Only using a UR22 for a personal “gig-box”.Compact interfaces with pro features and connectivity, the SSL2+ promises an affordable version of “the SSL sound,” putting the feeling of a million recordings made in 7-figure recording studios within everyone’s reach. That is probably why I wouldn’t be at all satisfied I don’t use inputs 1 & 2 on the UR824 at all. It’s more complicated than it needs to be, but it works. The mic and guitar gets recorded into XP 圆4, all routed through the Emu unit ultimately. (EMU gain at ZERO - UR824 output 50%) The guitar goes straight into the EMU 1820m. Output the mic on the rear of the UR824 into the EMU unit which then records into XP 圆4. The UR824 for mics through a Vista 圆4 box. Using distorted guitar, I might use a Steinberg box. My guitars, I’m convinced I’ll need to invest in a DI box, but I’m notĬonfident that is a cure, so I’m using what I know works instead. I’m satisfied doing that, but if I want to use Steinberg interfaces with I’ve been using the EMU 1820m to record guitars. I was a not a Yamaha/Steinberg hardware user until I tried the UR824 that really seduce me… I have bought the UR22 without trying it, just because I was satisfied with the 824, and finally I was wrong with the UR22. I think I have to resell the UR22 and buy another portable unit.Īnyway, if there’s not UR22 update that will solve the hum problem when the phantom power is activated, this will be another reason not to keep this unit. I have tried the Babyface of a friend of mine, and not problem with the Hi-Z input level too. My old little Mackie Onyx do the job better, but it only records on 48 kHz and generally I use to record in 96 kHz. The problem is that I have bought the UR22 only as a portable solution to play/record guitar directly on Cubase7 with Amplitube3 and it seems that is wasn’t the good choice (if there no solution to reduce the input gain). I’ve got a 824 too, haven’t plug the guitar on this unit but I think that is the same circuit too.

ThIs may be a solution, but i have tried this the Guitar sound is more muffled than with the Hi-Z on. That will increase noise,īut editing the file or other measures can be taken. I suggest, leave the Hi-Z off with that guitar and increase the gain.
